As
well as painting I make jewellery, prints and baskets using contemporary
and traditional techniques.
In addition to a number of buildings throughout Shetland I have
a designed two houses for myself. The larger house provides
flexible open plan living and working space; the smaller
has
more traditional accommodation. Both houses demonstrate that
on a small budget attractive houses can be built to sit into
the rural
landscape. These houses take advantage of passive solar gain
and received an award from the Association for the Protection
of
Rural Scotland
in 2000.
